5 Steps On Getting The Most Out Of Your Gym Trial
So today I'm going to give you my top five tips as to how you can get results in just seven days.
Step One - Just Show Up!
I know this might sound obvious, but the hardest part of any fitness journey is simply walking through the door.
It’s completely normal to feel nervous but I promise you, once you’re here, we’ll take care of the rest. Our friendly coaches make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way.
Whether you’re a total beginner or getting back into fitness, all you have to do is show up.
Step Two - Train At Off-peak Times
Coming in when the gym is quieter can make a huge difference in your experience.
During off-peak times, you’ll get more 1-2-1 time with our trainers which will allow you to ask any questions without feeling rushed or embarrassed.
With the gym being quieter gym it will also give you plenty of space to move and get comfortable with the equipment. We recommend trying a mid-morning or mid-afternoon class. These times tend to be quieter, making it the perfect opportunity to ease into your fitness journey at your own pace.
Step Three - Start Light & Nail The Basics
Starting at the gym doesn't mean lifting the heaviest weights right away. It’s about mastering the proper form first. By using proper techniques and controlled movements you will create a great foundation for building strength. As you progress, the power and endurance will naturally follow.
Remember everyone has to start somewhere. Every session our expert trainers will assess your current fitness level, guide you on where to begin, and help you progress at a pace that works for you.
No matter where you’re starting from, we’ll make sure you feel confident and set up for success!
Step Four - Don't Overdo it
I always tell new members that starting with just one to two sessions per week is the perfect approach. It might seem like a small step but it's the right one.
Trying to jump from zero to seven workouts a week can lead to muscle fatigue and can even injury. Focus your energy on consistency over intensity. By starting with one to two sessions it will give your body the chance to adapt and recover properly ready for your next session.
It is important to listen to your body. Prioritise your rest and recovery and then gradually increase your sessions as you feel stronger. Unfortunately, fitness is a marathon, not a sprint!
